From June 4th to 6th, the Georgian Wine Network, in collaboration with six premier Georgian wineries, showcased their products at the 12th TopWine China Beijing International Wine Exhibition. Held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing, this event was spearheaded by the Georgian International Business Development Association. As China’s capital, Beijing is a vital hub in the northern Chinese market, serving as a political, economic, and cultural powerhouse. This makes the TopWine Beijing exhibition an ideal platform for enhancing the popularity and brand visibility of Georgian wines and spirits.
On June 4th, His Excellency Paata Kalandadze, the Ambassador of Georgia to China, visited the Georgian Wine Network booth. Mr. Mikheil Songulashvili, founder of the Georgian International Business Development Association, introduced each participating winery and highlighted their successes in the Chinese market under the Georgian Wine Network’s umbrella.
On June 5th, Mr. Wei Jun, founder of Tasting Annex—one of China’s most renowned wine and spirits education centers—conducted a master class on Georgian wines titled “Explore the Origin of Wine, Georgia”. Six representative Georgian wines, selected by the Georgian Wine Network and supported by the Georgian International Business Development Association, were presented to demonstrate the diversity of Georgian viticulture and its traditional Qvevri winemaking technology. Approximately 100 wine enthusiasts and distributors participated in the event.
The national pavilion-style presentation of Georgian wineries, organized by the Georgian International Business Development, provided an excellent opportunity for Georgian Wine Network and its partner wineries to highlight the variety of Georgian wines and spirits and their strong market presence in Northern China. As facilitators of Georgian wines and spirits, the Georgian International Business Development Association continues to explore and expand the potential of bilateral relations between Georgia and China in economic, trade, cultural, and other areas.
