From November 5th-10th, 2024, Georgian International Business Development Association (GIBDA) led a delegation of its member wineries to the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE), held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, China.

The Georgian National Pavilion showcased a selection of Georgian wines and spirits from 5 prominent wineries spearheaded by GIBDA, including Dugladze Wine Company LLC, JSC-Kotekhi Winery of Gurjaani, Wine Guards LLC, Bekauri Family Vineyards, and Ilango LLC.

The CIIE, one of the largest international trade platforms, attracted 3,496 exhibitors from 152 countries and regions, spanning over 420,000 square meters. Around 40+ Georgian companies attended, with 5 wine companies supported by GIBDA, showcasing the diversity of their products.

On the 6th,November,Mr. Paata Kalandadze, Ambassador of Georgia to China, and Mr.Irakli Nadareishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, visited Georgian National pavilion. Mr. Mikheili Songulashvili, the founder of GIBDA, provided a brief introduction to the Ambassador, highlighting the achievements of the partner wineries, which together account for 35% of Georgia’s wine exports to China. These wineries are recognized as major contributors to the expansion of Georgia’s export potential in the Chinese market.

Throughout the event, GIBDA and its partner wine companies engaged with distributors, importers, and buyers, fostering valuable connections and exploring new business opportunities in China.

This participation is part of GIBDA’s ongoing efforts to support local wineries promote Georgian wines and spirits, and enhance business and trade opportunities by introducing Georgia’s rich wine heritage and high-quality wine and spirits products to Chinese markets and other key markets worldwide.
