The Canton Fair, officially known as the China Import and Export Fair, is a prestigious biannual event held in Guangzhou, renowned as one of the world’s most significant trade fairs. Since its inception in 1957, it has become a cornerstone for international trade, attracting thousands of exhibitors and buyers globally. This year, from April 15 to May 5, the 135th Canton Fair took place at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou, marking a historic milestone for the Georgian International Business Development Association (GIBDA) as we participated for the first time with our member company, Rooms and Residences

A Glimpse into the Canton Fair

The Canton Fair is divided into three phases, each dedicated to different product categories, facilitating navigation through the extensive exhibition space for buyers and sellers. With over 25,000 exhibitors and around 200,000 buyers attending each session, the Canton Fair is indispensable for businesses aiming to establish or expand their presence in the Chinese market and beyond.

Strategic Participation by GIBDA

For GIBDA and Rooms & Residences, attending the 135th Canton Fair was a strategic move. Our delegation comprised six representatives, highlighting our commitment to thorough research and engagement across all three phases of the fair. The event offered unparalleled networking opportunities, allowing us to connect with industry leaders, potential partners, and buyers from various regions. We discussed possible collaborations with numerous brands and gained invaluable insights into market trends and customer preferences, which are crucial for shaping our future strategies.

A Successful Debut

Our inaugural participation at the Canton Fair, in collaboration with Rooms and Residences, was a resounding success. We are thrilled about the opportunities that lie ahead and look forward to continued growth, bringing innovative ideas from Georgia to the global market.
